Even with all of the ghosts and goblins running around this time of year, it’s the candy that scares me! That’s right I run in fear of mini Snicker bars and bite-size Milkyways… Nightmares about Goobers and Kit Kats haunt me…Why? Because they are everywhere!
There is candy at the office, candy in your house, candy at your church, candy in every store, candy, candy, candy! So what is a poor dieter to do? Eat it? Ignore it? Pfft!
Neither option going to leave you completely satisfied – if you eat it, you’ll be visited by the dreaded specter of diet guilt (not to mention having to burn off those calories). If you ignore it, you may feel like you missed out and end up binging anyways. Not good!
So the trick to treating is to always keep something within reach that will satisfy your cravings without derailing your goals.
Dark chocolate, yogurt covered raisins, and cocoa roasted almonds are all great options that you can have a serving of without feeling like you’ve “cheated.”
Of course there is always "will power," but lets face it – we wouldn’t be writing or reading a diet blog if we had much of that.
Till next time -
